Aura Green specializes in supplying clean cooking stoves, an eco-friendly and efficient alternative to the conventional methods that rely heavily on wood and other solid fuels, which contribute to significant health and environmental problems.

Traditional cooking practices in Zimbabwe, particularly in rural areas, often involve the use of open fires or rudimentary stoves that burn wood, charcoal, or other solid fuels. These methods produce harmful smoke and emissions, leading to severe health issues such as respiratory diseases, eye problems, and even premature deaths. Women and children are disproportionately affected, as they are primarily responsible for cooking and are more exposed to indoor air pollution.

Clean cooking stoves significantly reduce the emission of harmful smoke and particulate matter, leading to a substantial decrease in respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. By mitigating indoor air pollution, these stoves help protect the health of women, children, and the elderly. These stoves are also designed to be highly efficient, reducing fuel consumption by up to 60% compared to traditional stoves. This efficiency helps in lowering deforestation rates, as less wood is needed for cooking. Additionally, reduced emissions contribute to combating climate change by lowering carbon footprints.

Aura Green’s clean cooking stoves are therefore more than just a product; they are a transformative solution that addresses multiple facets of societal well-being. By providing access to clean cooking technologies, Aura Green empowers communities, enhances health outcomes, and promotes environmental sustainability. The initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including clean energy, good health, gender equality, and climate action.

Marula Oil meanwhile is an extraordinarily stable, highly nutritious and extremely lightweight oil extracted from the kernels of the nut found inside the marula fruit. The oil has extensive applications in haircare, skincare and makeup products. The extraction process involves harvesting, pulp removal, kernel extraction from the nut, cold pressing and refining to remove impurities.

Aura Green is exploring an agro-processing business to produce this Oil from locally grown Marula Fruit, for export to international cosmetic manufacturers. The Company will adopt a best practice and sustainable approach that supports local communities at various stages through employment opportunities, empowering women, providing animal feed and infrastructure development. At present, Zimbabwe does not have any large scale marula oil manufacturers whereas there are only a handful of producers active within Southern Africa. At the same time, demand for the product globally is increasing singificantly with the increasing demand for organic cosmetics, hair and skin care products.
