Hempire Pharma
In 2019 Zimbabwe became only the second country in Africa to enact detailed regulations for medical cannabis industry. Hempire Pharma was incorporated shortly after and has since obtained the necessary license and authority to grow medical cannabis for the production of cannabis derived products and flowers for export to international markets. The company has executed extensive research and development towards the creation of value-added products such as medicinal oils, tinctures, creams and capsules from the cannabis plant.
In line with emerging global trends, the company is committed to sustainable and responsible practices and will look to minimise waste by also processing the stems of the cannabis plants for the creation of stock feeds for animals. Likewise the company has developed a strategy to enhance the local value chain, with this specific industry still in it's infancy in Zimbabwe.
